If as an author, you have a concern about how your manuscript was reviewed, such as a belief that reviewers misinterpreted your work, you should make an appeal to the board (ajs@uchicago.edu). Appeals are brought before the board and discussed.

If as a reviewer of an unpublished, or a reader of a published, manuscript, you have ethical concerns, you should raise this with the board (ajs@uchicago.edu).  If your concerns have to do with the conduct of the board and/or editor, you should also begin by writing to ajs@uchicago.edu, which will initiate a procedure independent of the editorial board.
